Ikat, or ikkat, is a dyeing technique used to pattern textiles that employ resist dyeing on the yarns prior to dyeing and weaving the fabric.
It is practiced in Koyyalagudem village, Choutuppal Mandal of Yadadri BhuvunagiriDistrict in Telangana State. The weaving of cloths is being done on “Maggam” (Handloom), a wooden instrument that works manually. The craft of Ikat is practiced in almost all households of my village, varieties of handloom products like dress materials, sarees, bedsheets, fabrics, etc are made
